The journey began with an internet search for 3D printers in the area of Southampton. Their primary goal was to identify a manufacturing partner capable of producing brackets that met their specifications in terms of both quality and timely delivery. Zillwood’s reached out to CRM CAD with the hope of utilising 3D printing to create brackets to be used during their shopfitting process. After previously using heavy cut and folded aluminium the adoption of light weight but strong 3D printed brackets marked a turning point for their project. The project utilised the 3D printed brackets and the time frame ensured that all sites were completed as required. Although a tiny part, the brackets were vitally important for the overall product.
Craig, a key member of CRM CAD's team, played a key role and was instrumental in the design phase. His knowledge and effective communication throughout the manufacturing process made the collaboration a positive experience.
The collaboration with CRM CAD broadened the company’s perspective on the possibilities offered by this technology. The successful implementation of 3D printing has prompted the consideration of such solutions in future projects.
